OpenTelemetry is now a graduated CNCF project. That is more than a badge.
Graduated means the project has proven it can be run in production at scale, that it has a real governance model, and that big organizations rely on it. For observability teams it lowers the risk of building a telemetry strategy on a foundation that might not be around.
The practical effect is confidence. If you were holding off on adopting OpenTelemetry because it felt early, the signal just changed.
The next question is not whether to use it. It is how much of your telemetry you can move onto it before the next tooling decision gets made.
